Fostering International Collaboration between SoiHub, Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation, and Leave a Nest
On September 27, 2025, the SoiHub Open Innovation Center was honored to welcome representatives from Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC, Malaysia) and Leave a Nest Malaysia (Japan) for a visit, exchange, and discussion on potential collaboration opportunities. This visit marked an important milestone in SoiHub’s strategy to strengthen international partnerships and expand its innovation network across Southeast Asia, laying the groundwork for future joint initiatives in digital technology, startup incubation, and applied research.
Introducing Strategic International Partners
Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) is the leading government agency driving the digital economy strategy of Sarawak, Malaysia. SDEC plays a vital role in advancing digital transformation, nurturing high-tech talent, incubating innovative startups, and promoting the adoption of digital solutions in business, education, and public administration. With a vision to position Sarawak as a leading technology hub in ASEAN, SDEC currently spearheads major programs in artificial intelligence, blockchain, smart cities, and sustainable energy.
Meanwhile, Leave a Nest Malaysia, a subsidiary of Leave a Nest Group Japan, is an international science and education organization dedicated to connecting knowledge and technology across nations. In Malaysia, the organization focuses on scientific startup incubation, applied research development, and advanced human resource training. With a network spanning Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia, Leave a Nest acts as a crucial bridge linking scientists, startups, students, and governments to build a collaborative and borderless innovation ecosystem.

During the working session, the three organizations shared insights and strategic visions for developing the innovation ecosystem in Vietnam, focusing on deep tech, AI, and sustainable technologies. SoiHub presented its open innovation strategy, emphasizing the importance of linking enterprises, startups, academia, and international organizations in the research, experimentation, and application of new technologies.
Discussions centered on an overview of SoiHub’s ecosystem and its flagship initiatives in AI, deep tech, digital transformation, and smart industry development, showcasing SoiHub’s role in advancing open innovation in Vietnam. The meeting also covered national policies and startup support programs, including incubation, investor networking, and technology commercialization.
The exchange resulted in several promising ideas for cooperation, such as joint research projects, technology incubation programs, and startup exchange initiatives between SoiHub, SDEC, and Leave a Nest.
